Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.

Matthew 11:28-30

What is Rhythm? At Hope Church we are commited to being being disciples or a better word might be apprentices of Jesus.

Why? Because that is life to the full. A life with Jesus, becoming like Jesus and doing what Jesus did is a life is of the greatest joy and love that you or I could ever live.

To help us grow and go deeper with God, we have rhythms or habits that we try and build into our lives. Its a bit like a stake used to hold up a plant. By providing structure and support to the plant, it enables the plant to grow quickly and healthily. In a similar way, these rhythms are there to provide structure and support to every aspect of life, enabling us to grow into the people and community God wants us to be.

Because of this a rhythm works best when it challenges us. It can’t be so easy that we are not stretched; but neither can it be so demanding that we have difficulty even meeting its minimum standards. These rhythms are not here to make us feel good or bad, but to help us grow in our love and service for God.

Jesus said, “Yes, I am the vine; you are the branches. Those who remain in me, and I in them, will produce much fruit. For apart from me you can do nothing. John 15.5
